Community Spotlight | Interview #002
Welcome to the Community Spotlight series, where we interview community members and $LPOOL hodlers.
What to expect: honest heart-to-heart conversations; tips and feedback from $LPOOL hodlers; fun stories; and personal experiences.

We build for the Community!
We built a platform to connect quality blockchain projects seeking funding with savvy crypto investors.
Launchpool enables our Community of Investors to fund projects at earlier stages then anywhere else (unless they happen to know the project’s founders or have a track record in the industry and deep pockets!).
The foundations of our business:
- Access to quality projects. Our industry connections, powered by Alphabit, and our growing reputation for quality early-stage investments propel us.
- An engaged community of savvy investors. People who understand the crypto space, are building a mid-to-long term investment portfolio, and know that this space tends to reward those who don’t treat it like a casino. If you are reading this, you are hopefully one of these savvy investors!
We talk a lot about the projects, so we decided to open the floor to community members. What can we all as a community learn from their investment approach, mindset and experience?
Our second interview is with Daza, one of our Telegram Community members.
Today, Daza has the floor. The interview below is unedited — Daza speaks with their own voice.
Hello Daza! Please, tell us a little about yourself.
Hello and thank you for having me on the Community Spotlight Series. I’d like to start by mentioning that I’m based in Europe and I’m more of a crypto newbie; having first gotten involved only in 2021 (more on that later).
As a father of a very busy household, I don’t have a lot of expendable time so I would class myself as a crypto generalist. I have a good idea of what’s out there and definitely squeeze in time for my own research but I could always do with a bit more. Being from the 80s (super cool days of Kit and Michael Knight) I have always had an interest in tech of all sorts and owned a lot of gaming consoles from Commodore64 and NES to N64 to the Xbox One. I still enjoy playing when I can (either I’m getting worse or everyone is just getting better). This interest saw me study software development after leaving school so I’m always looking at ways I can improve/automate things around me.
How did you get into crypto?
Here’s my story. I have always known about Crypto but never paid too much attention to it. It wasn’t until January 2021, when GameStop and Doge happened and everyone was talking about Bitcoin more than usual, that I first thought it was time to dip a few toes into the Crypto pond! I bought some Doge and boy do I wish I had kept it a bit longer :-/
What a rollercoaster of a year that was!
I definitely over traded in my early crypto days. I even considered building my own trading bot to invest into BTC and ETH but that didn’t seem to turn much profit. Being impatient, I moved into smaller cap coins but again, my impatience and over-trading caused me to miss out on early Cardano, Solana plus a few others. Then April 2021 happened and BTC dumped. I got lucky and managed to get out before taking too much of a hit: moving back into SOL and SHIB got me through those times and a little profit but not much. This was when I started my LPOOL journey.
How did you find Launchpool originally? What do you like about it?
I found Launchpool through a friend of mine in the early days of $20 LPOOL. I couldn’t afford to buy too many so I started with 50 LPOOL and bought on the way down so now I am at a comfortable place with my LPOOL bag holding. I incorporate a monthly $$ investment system. As I have mentioned earlier I lack time to sit and dig deep into the crypto wilderness so Launchpool does a lot of that hard work for me and with Labs, the opportunity just gets better with Pre-Seed and Seed.
The things I’ve learnt from my early days “trading” have changed my perspective more towards investing. The №1 Golden Rule — only invest what you can afford to lose! There are however some other golden rules that I follow: always invest in what you have researched and believe in, don’t be afraid to sell and pull out your initial investment then set sell targets for whatever is left. Sometimes following your gut might be worth it! You probably won’t become a millionaire from one investment, but get a few right and you could get there! I’m now more of an investor and Hodler through Launchpool but I sometimes do investments into other projects I believe will do well in the future.
What is your overall approach to investing on Launchpool? Which projects have you invested in?
My approach is to always fill the two lower pools first and always have enough $LPOOL to be able to participate in both AMEs and Labs if they are offered at the same time. If I find that I am really bullish on a project brought forward by “LP” I would roll my reserved “Labs” $LPOOL into the Unlimited “LP” pool AME.
I have invested in almost everything from Launchpool. UNIZEN was one I missed (I’m seeing a pattern in my investing strategy of just missing out on great projects…lol), and a few others but luckily as I was able to qualify for my Bronze NFT in the first batch. Since then I have invested a lot more projects with Lauchpool and now, I am a proud holder of a GOLD NFT. This is a double win as I really do like the options/opportunities these NFTs offer to me.
Oh, I’m really glad I caught $REALM…I must be turning a new leaf in my strategy…fingers crossed!
Which tools for trading would you recommend / use?
I use most of the main exchanges to get the BUSD needed for my Launchpool investments (CoinBase / KuCoin / Binanace / FTX) and throw in a bit of Uniswap and PancakeSwap that just about rounds it off.
How long did it take you to learn how to use the Launchpool fair launch system? Any tips?
I found the process of using the Launchpool system pretty straight forward if I’m honest. I was also in agreement with the changes brought in to increase the pool sizes including the GOLD and BRONZE NFTs for access into the Labs arena as more hands builds the community which makes a massive difference for new and upcoming crypto projects.
My tip for users using the Launchpool system is to keep track of what projects you have invested in as I didn’t at the beginning which made it difficult for me to manage after a while. This led me to create a formula based spreadsheet to help me track my personal investments. The Launchpool Team have indicated the intention to continue to upgrade the dashboard and the ability to see the projects I have staked into is now possible. Anyone interested in the spreadsheet I created can find it here
Who is your favourite moderator?
Easy one for me it’s Jean-Marc Griffith. He has always been my go to mod/admin from the beginning with any issue or points I needed to clarify.
Which channel delivers the best Launchpool updates for you?
For me I’m used to Telegram for majority of projects but Twitter feels a good way of reaching new investors for our projects and I’m getting used to Discord. I can see why Discord is a better way of organising the chats for all the projects so if we moved to it as the primary communication, I can see the advantage of doing so.
How long is your time frame for investing in projects?
I have no timeframe set. I think for most projects I took/take early profit to either reinvest into the next project or into more LPOOL tokens. I will be aiming for the completion of the vesting period for each project, to decide what to do with the remaining tokens: if to Hodl or if to sell and recycle the funds into the next project. The final decision will also depend on the project success over the vesting period and their remaining potential.
Do you intend to participate in Launchpool Labs incubated project raises? Tell us your thoughts on this part of the roadmap.
I do really like the Launchpool Labs addition and have been investing in almost all so far as I qualified for the initial Bronze NFT and now also the Gold NFT. While these are higher risk, I see the pre-seed & seed allocations being really profitable if they become successful at launch (they are the cheapest you can get the tokens). I would like to suggest, maybe having a way for us early investors to get involved with more of the projects would be good? As was done for Pollen and announced for NOWwhere.
Anything coming up in crypto you are really excited about?
Probably what’s inside my Quantpods and to explore the actual Metaverse with my own Belt in the Realm Metaverse.
Any messages or tips to share with the Community? Any tools that you love to use? Any websites or DApps you could not be without?
I wouldn’t say I have any special go to apps. Most are likely the same as most others are using, CMC and CG. I used CoinGecko to track overall investments but have created a spreadsheet as mentioned earlier to track all my Launchpool investments and workout my allocations by using the tokenomics data from the projects page on Launchpool. I’ve also tried to create an estimation calculator for the Labs pools that will work out your allocations, but I’m yet to test this in the wild, so I can keep people posted if interested.
Any thoughts or ideas to share with the Launchpool team?
You’re doing great work. I would like to see us getting into some up and coming projects with similar tokenomics to Luna and maybe a bit more DeFi/CeFi projects that are prepping for the move to crypto regulation. I see this could be a profitable area in future.
Maybe getting more involved with project launches would also help addressing some of the latest issues we saw at public listing. Another thought would be how do we increase the LPOOL user community and make holding $LPOOL more attractive? Maybe you can offer some form of staking LPOOL for SPOOL tokens that could be used to gain additional allocations of leftover project tokens that are not paid for?
What do you think is the edge of having a strong and supportive Community in the crypto space?
For any project I believe the community holds the key to a project’s overall success and the more active users we have in the Launchpool Community, the more it will help all of us improve our positions in the crypto space. A project could be the best thing since sliced bread but without investors it won’t be going anywhere fast!
Do you have suggestions for the team and platform improvement?
It would be really helpful to have something to inform everyone with dates as to when the claims are going to be live for all of the projects, at the moment just checking to see if claims are available is time consuming. Also there was a mention previously about allowing users to get Labs NFTs before they were eligible by burning LPOOL. Are we looking at any form of burning or buy back function for the LPOOL token? Also can we connect to the Launchpool site without having to always be on the ETH Network?
Interview ends.
Thank you Daza, for sharing your story, your approach to investing through Launchpool… and for your investment tracking tool.
